A Surplus Film: The Letterman

Yoooo! It’s a great week to drop some new visuals! My good brother Brett has reached his career milestone with Sample Surplus by releasing his first ever letterman jacket. I’ve been preaching to him for YEARS, maybe decades, to drop a letterman and we are finally here.

We were able to finally connect and create something special just like old times. And as always, we didn’t disappoint on the execution. I’ve been on a long hiatus with my health and just working on personal projects (Dear God & Aspire to Inspire series) so it’s always exciting when I get to just have fun and create. Thanks for igniting that spark again B! We kept it super simple with 1 light and 1 camera (Q2) to accent his silhouette and focus on the jacket. Came out pretty fire after color grading. Check it out below! And stay tuned for the release in late October.

In the words of MKBHD, I’ve had this jacket for a few weeks, lol. Did a little product testing and I was able to put together my very own review to capture this defining moment of his career. Cheers to you B! Only up from here bro. Check out my personal highlight on it below as well.

I had a lot of fun with this shoot. We were able to shoot with JT again and I was finally able to test this MEKE fisheye I’ve been sitting on for a year. Hit my man JT if you want to learn how to skate, he has an official skate school and does private lessons. Some BTS below.

My bro, Brett, has been killing it with Sample Surplus. We occasionally refer back to this video for the doubters. The many no’s, the haters and failures it took to get this point. And now look, life is looking great. You’ll see the glory in the upcoming issue.

With that being said, my bro just dropped a 24 piece collection. 24. 2-4. For a local brand. Well, I guess you can say global because everyone supports him, from NBA players to pro skaters. And mind you, he has an official collab with Boo Johnson that drops next week too. I’m proud to see it. Honestly. He has been working too hard to not get his flowers. I’m here for it.
